Is FCP still using Google Hangouts? Here is a good reason why not to.
Taken from Dr Mercola article (link below). Google has partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and is getting deeper into the drug promotion business with its launch of a depression self-assessment quiz Google and other tech startups are investigating the possibility of assessing mental health problems using a combination of electronic medical records and tracking your use of the internet and social media To stop Google’s growing monopoly, sign the “Don’t be evil” petition and avoid all Google products, including Gmail, Google docs and Google’s search engine. A good alternative search engine is DuckDuckGo

westwynd Great post Michelle . Thank you again and again .Google was created by DARPA .. ( Department of Advance Research Project Agency ) in the US , It's purpose is to spy on everyone and collecting information . Facebook is also controlled by the CIA not Mark Zuckerberg , he is only their puppet . Look at his surname .Phillpots I think you know what I'm talking about .
Lula Thanks guys, agreed. We have been through this before...and again, please suggest an/some alternatives we can use, as we have always found the hangouts to be vibrant and motivating. We all learn a lot.. we need something that can be used easily, and can be recorded to be embedded into the hangout archives for other FCP members to listen and participate..so..... unseen? zoom? discord? Please give us your advice given the system we have here, we really want to hold hangouts people can attend. We had 8 groovy people last night who had a great exchange; we can increase this and make it a regular feature again.... where would you be comfortable to meet? Thanks

Michelle O I have used Unseen a lot but only for one to one conversations and sometimes the sound quality is not good. I also know of 'Ring' (www.ring.cx I think). Which I believe is better and does accommodate group calls. Worth looking into at least.

Lula Great, thanks Michelle.. will try and see what we can set up for this Thursday that might support larger groups without compromising quality. Anyone have experience hosting with zoom? I've joined plenty of large hangouts..... will check with Tiny, I think he might know.... keep the suggestions coming as people do feel they are connecting well through the hangouts and developing good ideas....muchas gracias -)
