shortly after writing the bit about myself on here I started scratching my head as to how I could positively use the experience I have from working in public sector finance, for a positive cause. After some coincidental events earlier this week, I've now agreed to take over as treasurer of the John Lally International Foundation in July. The work they do is fantastic, I'm hoping to get involved in a big way

I`ve looked at the John Lally International Foundation,it looks really worthwhile. It reminds me a little of the Kerugoya school for Deaf children in Kenya which I supported for many years, mostly financially. It was organised by an ex teacher from Boston Spa but she left in disgust after discovering that the newly appointed head teacher was abusing the children! It was really nice to get a sort of school report and photographs of the little girl we sponsored, does this Foundation do anything similar? I`ve realised recently that I`m spreading myself too thin and need to concentrate on matters that are really important to me. However, I could sponsor.donate £10 per month to the Foundation if that would be of any use? I donate to various `causes` but no longer to any of the big ones once I discovered the huge salaries the staff were being paid. My younger son developed cancer 7 years ago but we stopped donating to any of the Cancer fund raising very soon after. They have no intention if finding a cure! all for now:)
