Well the end of summer is here and so is my KickStarter Campaign (September 9th noon)
Most people aren't familiar with this crowd funding platform, but I chose it because it is the only one that exclusively funds artistic and creative projects.
The tricky thing about it is that if you aren't able to meet the funding goal, you don't get any money, and all the backers are refunded their donations. The reason is that they want to insure that the artists have enough funds to actually complete their projects. All or nothing.
We're getting close to meeting the goal, but we still have a long way to go.
Now I know times are tough, hell when I open a can of tuna for lunch I have to split it with my three cats, but in the past year I've donated to charitable causes three times, and each time it was only $10 bucks. I'm not cheap, I'm financially challenged, but what the hell, 10 bucks is better than nothing.
So if you think, I would think you were cheap because you only donated $10 to my fundraiser, well you'd be wrong.
My art project Tri-Monic is set to debut at Toronto's largest arts festival Nuit Blanche on Oct 3, but after that it will be shipped to various art galleries and arts festivals across the country. The first stop is Ft McMurray Alberta for their igNIGHT art festival. I just spoke with their city coordinator and they are planning on bringing two bus tours and bus loads of school children to participate in my installation!
Well the pressure is on me to make this project something memorable and I've had to increase my beer ration from two every night, to three.
So please, if you can, donate ten bucks to my fund raiser.
