Heather Ellis is the author of Ubuntu: one woman's motorcycle odyssey across Africa, published by Black Inc. Books in April 2016.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Journalism and has worked as a journalist for News Ltd and as a communications and media officer for international development agency, Plan. She also holds a Graduate Diploma of International Development and a Master of Arts (creative enterprise).

Heather is also a freelance features writer and a professional public speaker. As a motorcyclist with 40 years of riding experience, she is also an advocate for motorcycle road safety and is a member of the Victorian Government’s Motorcycle Advisory Group
